Area of Research: Social Psychology
RESEARCH OVERVIEW - My position in the department focuses largely on teaching (particularly Introduction to Psychology) and directing the graduate program. Consequently, I conduct less research than my colleagues. However, I make a point to keep a toe in the stream of research and I enjoy collaborating with students on their research. My primary interests are gender, sexuality, and the scholarship of teaching. Recent publications include studies on alternatives to masculine generic pronouns, gender differences in the self-construal, and various techniques to increase student learning in the classroom. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about my research or the graduate program in psychology at NMSU. Please see my Curriculum Vita for a list of publications and courses taught.
