More about the Social Psychology Program
Ever wondered why groups of teenagers dress alike, talk alike, and try to “blend in?” This is a type of conformity. Conformity involves the changing of one's attitudes, opinions, or behaviors to match the attitudes, opinions, or behaviors of other people. Conformity occurs because there is some social pressure to behave like other people, even in spite of our true feelings and desires.
